Living life in the fast lane can be fun, depending on who you ask and what is happening at the time. Celebrities have the fancy cars, multiple homes, personal chefs and private jets to fly them anywhere in the world. Celebrities have fans who want to hang out with them and be like them and they also have the pushy paparazzi. It has to be irritating and annoying to have people following you and taking your picture with or without make-up, with your family, but most of all without your permission period and then to top it all off, add a story to the pictures that is absolutely not true.
Should we feel sorry for the paparazzi? I don’t think so, because they could have chosen another profession. Should we feel sorry for the celebrities? No, because they too could have chosen another profession.
The big question is do celebrities have the right to privacy? I think everyone should have the right to some privacy no matter what you do for a living. This latest news regarding Justin Bieber and a photographer being killed should be the last straw in how far the paparazzi and or photographers can go to obtain photos of high profile celebrities. I really thought the tragedy involving Princess Diana would have been enough to change the get-the-picture-no-matter-the-cost kind of behavior from the paparazzi. I guess I was wrong.
Well, if the paparazzi will not change their tactics, then celebrities might have to change the way they handle the paparazzi. So this is what I would do if I were a celebrity, I would do what the White House does and hold press conferences. I would give the paparazzi a time and place to meet and let them ask questions, and then I would decide which questions are appropriate and respond accordingly and hopefully this would help with accurate reporting by the not so loved paparazzi.
People should not lose their life over trying to get the “big story.” We all want to feel like we are a part of our favorite celebrity’s life, and we want to know what do they do in their spare time? It is their fans who make them bigger than life, and the only way we can feel like we know our celebrities is to rely on the paparazzi to get up close, because sometimes those pictures when celebrities are being natural and doing normal stuff are really the best pics.
Let’s make it easier on everyone and save lives at the same time, spend a little time with the paparazzi, just like it’s done for the fans in an arena. So celebrities, make a date with the paparazzi, and let them snap some photos and get the story. The most important thing is that they get the story right and that can only come directly from the A-List.
